Meet the team

NEIL JEFFERSON
CHIEF EXECUTIVE
Neil JeffersonNeil has been seconded to the Zero Carbon Hub from NHBC, where he is General Manager. He is a Director of NHBC Services Ltd and previous roles at NHBC include Head of Registration and Regional Director.

Until recently Neil was also Managing Director of the National Centre for Excellence in Housing - a joint venture between BRE and NHBC – which has been instrumental in helping to deliver initiatives that have resulted in the development and building of low and zero carbon homes.  This included recently facilitating the building of the Barratt Green House at the Innovation Park at BRE.

DAVID ADAMS
DIRECTOR
David AdamsDavid Adams is Head of External Affairs for Knauf Insulation (UK) Ltd, where he is responsible for external affairs, strategy and applications development with a specific focus on Zero Carbon, sustainability and the upgrading of the existing housing stock.

David brings to the role a wealth of expertise and knowledge about the issues and challenges in delivering zero carbon homes having previously been seconded to the Callcutt Review of Housebuilding Delivery where he led the Zero Carbon element. He also assisted members of the 2016 Task Force develop the Zero Carbon Delivery Vehicle proposal and was also a member of the UK-GBC Zero Carbon definition workgroup.

CLIVE TURNER
INFORMATION MANAGER
Clive TurnerClive joined the Zero Carbon Hub in Autumn 2008. Previously he worked for BRE and during a varied career, largely associated with housing quality and performance, he has developed a parallel expertise in information design. Clive joins the Zero Carbon Hub aware that success in delivering the 2016 agenda is directly related to the quality of information provided to the industry at this time of rapid change. His focus will be on ensuring that the Zero Carbon Hub consistently delivers clear, straightforward advice to its key stakeholders – the house builders and supply chains that are wrestling with new definitions, advancing technologies and complex requirements.

In addition to supporting the development of information outputs from the other worksteams, Clive is responsible for the development and management of the Examples and Scale up workstream.

ROB PANNELL
HEAD OF HOUSE BUILDING
Rob PannellRob Pannell heads up the Energy Efficiency workstream focusing on the fabric and construction requirements of low and zero carbon homes.  Rob has previously held a number of senior level roles with Taylor Wimpey UK Ltd – most recently as UK Director of Production where he investigated and established a cost base of practical renewable energy and building fabric solutions to meet the various levels of the Code for Sustainable Homes. He brings to the Zero Carbon Hub a wide range of knowledge about sustainability, innovations, technology prototypes and trials, as well as associated policy.
