Next conference: West Midlands (Birmingham), 14th February 2013
Are you planning for zero carbon homes?
Birmingham City Council will host the next Nearer to Zero conference. Run across the country, this highly successful series explores how planners and developers can prepare together to meet the 2016 zero carbon housing challenge. Nearer to Zero examines the progress that has been made and reviews the steps that need to be taken now to ensure the delivery of zero carbon housing moves from ambition to reality. High level speakers are drawn from government, industry and local authority planning and will be addressing the following questions:
• What is the definition of a zero carbon home and how is this is to be achieved?
• How will planning reform impact local development policy?
• What are the roles of local authorities in assisting delivery within the new localism landscape?
• What preparations have been made in the West Midlands for the retro-fit agenda?
With 2016 now just three years away, the focus will be firmly on the steps which need to be taken to ensure the delivery of more sustainable housing in the West Midlands.
All delegates to the conference can receive a CPD certificate of attendance on the subject of ‘Planning and Building for Low and Zero Carbon New Homes’.
