Birmingham City University will hold the 1st International Conference on Zero Carbon Buildings Today and in the Future at its City Centre Campus on 11th and 12th September 2014. This will be followed by a technical visit to a ground-breaking Birmingham Zero Carbon House on Saturday 13th September.
In the world in which there are increasing risks from global warming, overpopulation and diminishing conventional energy resources, buildings and settlements with net zero carbon dioxide emissions are seen as one of the ways forward in putting the planet back into balance and setting it on a sustainable trajectory.
Recent examples from around the world indicate that zero carbon projects are becoming less of an exception and more of a norm. The conference will gather researchers and designers from 10 countries to provide a forum for exchange of knowledge and for establishing an increased awareness of this developing field.
