Tuesday, November 24, 2009 New Fabric Energy Efficiency Standard for Zero Carbon Homes Housing Minister, John Healey, today announced his decision on the minimum standard for the energy efficiency of zero carbon homes. His decision has been strongly informed by the specialist Task Group he asked the Zero Carbon Hub to assemble following his Policy Statement on zero carbon homes earlier in the summer. Members of the Task Group presented the report to the Minister following an intensive period of consideration and consultation and the report is now published.

Tuesday, November 17, 2009 New research suggests public support for neighbourhood wide "green utilities" There is strong public support for “green utilities” – such as district heat, vacuum waste disposal and water harvesting – that are delivered at a community scale. This is the key finding from new research carried out by Icaro Consulting and published today by the UK Green Building Council and Zero Carbon Hub, funded by the NHBC Foundation. This suggests public opposition need not be a barrier to delivery.
